  15. In diesem Demo-Paket fehlen einige Dateien, die in der regulären Demoversion
  16. enthalten sind: asl.library V38, locale.library V38 und einige helvetica
  17. Fonts. Die Aminet-Bestimmungen verbieten es, Material der Workbench in das
  18. Netz upzuloaden (wir besitzen allerdings das Recht, diese Dateien auf unseren
  19. Disketten zu vertreiben). 
  20. Das XPK Paket ist ebenfalls nicht Teil dieses Archivs, um unnötige Redundanz
  21. zu vermeiden.

  23. Damit das Demo läuft, MUSS die asl.library V38 oder neuer auf dem System 
  24. installiert sein. Mit 'version asl.library' kann das überprüft werden.
  25.  
  26. Wenn die benötigten helvetica Zeichensätze nicht installiert sind, wird
  27. Diavolo nicht ganz so aussehen wie vorgesehen, speziell im Scrolltext.

  29. Wenn keine XPK Bibliotheken installiert sind, ist Diavolo nicht in der
  30. Lage gepackte oder verschlüsselte Sicherungen zu erstellen oder zu lesen.

  34. Demo Version
  35. ============

  37. Diavolo Backup ist ein kommerzielles Produkt. Dieses Demonstrationspaket soll
  38. helfen, einen ersten Eindruck von den Fähigkeiten zu bekommen. Außerdem kann
  39. getestet werden, ob Diavolo Backup auf einer bestimmten Konfiguration läuft.

  41. Die Demo Version entspricht vom Funktionsumfang her Diavolo Backup Pro.

  43. Gegenüber der Vollversion bestehen jedoch folgende Einschränkungen:

  45.  - Es können keine Sicherungen restauriert werden. Sie können allerdings
  46.    verglichen werden, was praktisch der selbe Ablauf ist. Wenn eine Sicherung
  47.    erfolgreich verglichen werden kann, so kann sie auch problemlos restauriert

  50.  - Über die API können keine Sicherungen ausgelöst werden. D.h. das keine

  139. ============

  141. Diese Demo Version braucht nicht zu installiert werden, sie läuft in dem Ver-
  142. zeichnis, in dem das Archiv ausgepackt wurde.

  144. Die Vollversion wird mit einem Installationsprogramm geliefert, das u.a.
  145. eine Notbootdiskette erstellen kann.
  146.  
  147. 'DBSchedDaemon' sollte normalerweise beim Booten automatisch gestartet werden
  148. um die Sicherungen zu den gewünschten Zeiten auszuführen. Dazu wird das
  149. Programm normalerweise in die WBStartup kopiert und einige ToolTypes
  150. angepasst. Da diese Funktion bei der Demo ohnehin gesperrt ist, kann dieser
  151. Schritt wegfallen. Bei der Vollversion erledigt diese Aufgabe das
  152. Installations- programm.

  189. Verwirrung zu stiften, haben wir uns entschlossen, diese Version 3.0

  197. Leider mußten wir kurz vor Auslieferung festellen, daß Sicherungen von
  198. Multi-Assignments nicht zuverlässig arbeiten. Wir werden das so schnell
  199. wie möglich beheben. Da die meisten Kunden dieses Feature jedoch nicht
  200. benötigen, haben wir uns entschlossen, den Erscheinungstermin trotz dieses
  201. Bugs nicht zu verschieben.

  204. Rechtliches

  207. Diese Version darf frei und kostenlos verteilt werden. Auch in Mailboxen und
  208. Binärnetzen wie dem Aminet. Sie darf zudem als Teil von Zusammenstellungen
  209. auf CDs verkauft werden sofern nicht mit der Erwähnung von Diavolo Backup
  210. für die CD geworben wird.

  240. This demo has been stripped of some WB files found in the regular demo
  241. release: asl.library V38, locale.library V38 and some helvetica
  242. fonts. The aminet regulations demand that WB material must not be
  243. uploaded into the aminet (we own the right to include these libraries
  244. on our disks, though).
  245. The XPK package is not a part of the package either, to avoid
  246. unneccessary redundancy.

  248. To run the demo successfully, you MUST have asl.library V38 or later.

  261. Diavolo Backup is a commercial product. We have compiled this demo package to
  262. give you a first impression of its capabilities. And you can test if Diavolo
  263. Backup works with a specific configuration.

  265. The demo release is equivalent to Diavolo Backup Pro with the following
  266. restrictions:

  268.  - It cannot restore backups. But they can be compared, which is almost the
  269.    same procedure. If a backup does compare ok, it will also be restorable
  270.    without any problem.

  272.  - The API cannot be used to start backups. That means you cannot create

  362. This demo release need not to be installed, it works from within the directory
  363. where the archive has been decompressed.

  365. The full version is shipped with an installation program which also can create
  366. an emergency boot disk.

  368. 'DBSchedDaemon' should be started automatically when booting to be able to
  369. start the backups at the given time. To achieve this, the program is copied
  370. into the WBStartup drawer in the full release. As this function is disabled in
  371. the demo anyway, that step is no longer neccessary.

  380. We're looking for an english/US distributor, which shouldn't be much of a

  412. online services (aminet, Compuserve etc.) and bbs systems. It's allowed to
  413. sell it as a part of a CD compilation, as long as Diavolo is not used to
